Can someone please explain to me how France seems to be acting like a sovereign country within the EU?
I'm confused. I thought countries had no sovereignty and had to do what the EU told them
Bradley Wall
It suddenly struck me this morning that the reason the UK and EU can’t reach a mutually acceptable deal is that one doesn’t exist
because Brexit is inherently illogical and divorced from all reality.

Anyone notice that these anti maskers are:
Likely to be right wing.
Likely to be Brexiteers.
Likely to support Farage.
Likely to not care how many die as long as it doesn't affect them.
Likely to think Rees-Mogg is a great bloke as he says it how it is.
Likely to be wankers.

Brexit bedeutet:
1. Harte Grenze zwischen Nordirland und Republik Ireland. Damit waere das Karfreitagsabkommen gebrochen.
Alles andere waere kein Brexit.

Throughout the Brexit negotiations, Britain has tried to maintain a civilised approach.
Unfortunately, that is not true of the European Union.
As negotiations continue today, we must remember that Britain has nothing to fear with a No Deal Brexit.

But hey, if Britain has nothing to fear with a No Deal Brexit, why are these smart guys still hanging around with Barnier?
Britons being refused job interviews in Europe because of Brexit, MPs told
Loss of free movement rights means UK workers not suitable for many professional roles
British citizens living in the EU are increasingly being refused job interviews because of their impending Brexit loss of free movement rights, MPs have been told.
Representatives of British in Europe, an umbrella organisation representing the 1.2 million British people living on the continent, said the loss of rights was “already real” for many people living abroad.
UK nationals have free movement in the EU until the end of the transition period in December this year, giving them the right to live work and study abroad.
But EU employers are anticipating the end of those right, which will make it harder for Britons to do some jobs that involve cross-border travel.
“We are seeing people refused interviews for jobs because those jobs require the freedom to travel across the EU,” Kalba Meadows, a steering group member of British in Europe who lives in France, told the EU Future Relationship Select Committee.

Garvan Walshe: Vote Remain, or risk turning Britain into Argentina
Garvan Walshe is a former National and International Security Policy Adviser to the Conservative Party.
What country was richer than Britain at the height of its power? Not Germany or the still emerging United States, but one in South America famous for wine, steak, military dictators, footballers with a weak grasp of the rules, and hyperinflation.
Before the First World War, Argentina was the richest country in the world. It had successful export industries, took in huge quantities of foreign investment (mainly from Britain) and attracted hundreds of thousands of immigrants from Europe. Buenos Aires boasted both a Harrods and a Hurlingham club.
Yet by the 1980s Argentina had come close to becoming failed state. Its military dictatorship murdered as many as 30,000 people in a dirty war, and lashed out at its old British ally by invading the Falkland islands. Defeat doomed the junta, but the democracy that followed struggled from economic slump to currency crisis to default, and back again.
Argentina suffers from a chronic political virus: with only brief interludes, it has since the 1930s been run by populists who maintain that the system is run for the elite, and against the people; that any experts are the system’s hired clerks, their wisdom corrupted by money; that the plain anger of the ordinary man isn’t just right, but righteous.
Populists take hold because there’s usually an element of truth here: no elite is entirely disinterested; experts vary in quality and integrity; and instinct and common sense are an essential check on ideological extremism. In the Argentina where Juan Perón rose to power the elite governed in its own interests; independent technocrats were few; the descamisados (shirtless ones) were justly entitled to feel aggrieved.
If you listen to the Leave campaign, Britain in 2016 is like Argentina in 1935. ...
