Ukraine Launches Investigation Into Alleged Surveillance of Marie Yovanovitch
The good news for President Donald Trump is that he’s finally managed to get Ukraine to launch an investigation. The bad news is it’s into an alleged surveillance campaign on Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, carried out by the president’s associates. Ukraine made the announcement Thursday, with its Ministry of Internal Affairs releasing a statement saying it “took note of the possible illegal surveillance on the territory of Ukraine by former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch.” She was recalled from her position in May following what she has described as a smear campaign against her from Trump and his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani.

Of course he had no idea of what happened there.
For God's sake, hasn't he given us more than enough evidence of his colossal ignorance and stupidity?
Why would we expect him to have any knowledge of anything??

Trump is trying to cripple the environment and democracy
The Trump administration has fired the latest salvo in its never-ending assault on environmental safeguards: a proposal from the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) to overhaul its regulations governing federal agency compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

The proposal would narrow the scope of NEPA’s protections, weaken federal agency duties when the law applies, and attempt to shield violations of NEPA from judicial oversight. More significantly, the proposal is wildly inconsistent with NEPA’s most fundamental goal: fostering deliberation and democratic participation to improve the government’s capacity to promote social welfare. ...

Trump's model for America is corrupt, autocratic crony capitalism. Like in Russia.
Trump and his allies are meddling in our economy and legal system to punish opponents and reward supporters. That means more corruption, less freedom.

Russia is corrupt and autocratic. It ranks 138th out of 180 countries for corruption (where a higher ranking means more corrupt) and 149th for freedom of the press (where a higher ranking means less freedom). In Russia, government policies benefit the ruling party’s allies and punish its opponents.

America used to condemn countries like Russia. Now, President Donald Trump openly expresses his admiration for Russian President Vladimir Putin and other corrupt autocrats. Even worse, Trump and the GOP want America to become more like Russia.

Trump repeated one of his favorite tears lies this afternoon, the one about the people behind him crying as he signed his Waters of the United States order.
(Unlike most of his tears stories, which tend to take place "backstage" and such, this event was on camera. Nobody cried.)

Fact check: 65 ways Trump has been dishonest about Ukraine and impeachment
President Donald Trump is dishonest about a whole lot of things. But he is rarely as comprehensively dishonest as he has been about his dealings with Ukraine and the impeachment process.

From the eruption of the Ukraine controversy in September to the Senate trial that officially began on Thursday, relentless deceit has seemed to be Trump's primary defense strategy in the court of public opinion. He has made false claims about almost every separate component of the story, from his July phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to the whistleblower who complained about the call, to Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's own relations with Ukraine.
The President has been dissembling about so many different things at once that it can be difficult to keep track of what is true and what isn't. To help you fight Trump-induced dizziness as the trial gets underway, we've tallied his dishonesty on the subject of Ukraine and impeachment. Our original list from mid-November included 45 false claims he has made and a brief fact check of each one.
We have since added 20 more for a total of 65. ...

Just some subjects of Trump dishonesty last week:
Iran. Cancer. Ethiopia. AOC. Bolton. NATO. Highway permits. Canada. His crowds. His approval. His golfing. 2016. Vets. South Korea. Iraq. The visa lottery. China. Air. Obama.
12:02 PM · Jan 19, 2020

Reverting to his usual level of dishonesty, Trump made 81 false claims last week
President Donald Trump made just 15 false claims two weeks ago, a holiday week during which he uttered few public remarks.

He gave fact checkers only a brief respite. Back to Washington and back to doing interviews and campaign rallies, Trump made 81 false claims last week. That is tied for the fifth-highest total in the 27 weeks we have counted at CNN.
It was an eclectic batch of dishonesty. Among other things, Trump took unearned credit for both the Ethiopia-Eritrea peace agreement and for the drop in the US cancer death rate, absurdly claimed that NATO "had no money" before his presidency, wrongly denied that his golf excursions cost taxpayers any money, and repeated his usual varied inaccuracies about impeachment, immigration and the nuclear agreement with Iran.
Trump made 27 of the false claims at his campaign rally in Toledo, Ohio. He made 16 more in a Fox News interview with Laura Ingraham. He made six in his speech on National Environmental Policy Act regulations, plus 10 in his exchange with reporters after the speech.
Trump's total of 81 false claims last week was above his average of about 61 per week. Trump is now up to 1,636 false claims since July 8, an average of about nine per day. ...

Farmers refuse to cheer for Trump as he lies that he’s fighting for them to keep their land
President Donald Trump appeared in Texas Sunday to speak to the Farm Bureau conference. Among the things he promised was that he was fighting for them to have their water rights and rights to control their own land usage.

As one viewer noted, there was noticeable silence when Trump mentioned land usage. It could be due to the fact that Trump is suing in court to take the land of farmers and ranches so he can build his border wall. For some, the land has been in their family since the founding of the state of Texas.

Trump was also caught in multiple lies and twisting of the truth. He claimed that under former President Barack Obama’s administration, farmer income fell. He didn’t mention that it topped out at the highest it’s ever been, as one viewer noticed.

He also didn’t address the costs he’s forced on farmers due to his tariffs with China. While Trump provided corporate farms with multiple bailouts, those who don’t run huge farms lost a lot of money and many were even forced to file for bankruptcy. Farmer suicides also saw an increase under Trump. Thanks to Trump’s tariffs, equipment costs also significanlty increased.

None of the topics were ones Trump explained to those who deserved answers.
