The Gambler
"...Every gambler knows
That the secret to survivin'
Is knowin' what to throw away
And knowin' what to keep
'Cause every hand's a winner
And every hand's a loser
And the best that you can hope for is to die
in your sleep
And when he finished speakin'
He turned back toward the window
Crushed out his cigarette
And faded off to sleep
And somewhere in the darkness
The gambler he broke even
But in his final words
I found an ace that I could keep:
You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run ..."

Farewell Kenny Rogers. Rest in Peace

Für mich zählt, was hinten rauskomnt.

Sad to hear of the loss of Carl Reiner, a man of ready wit and a gracious spirit.
Carl Reiner, Multifaceted Master of Comedy, Is Dead at 98
Mr. Reiner was a gifted comic actor, but he spent most of his career slightly out of the spotlight — writing, directing and letting others get the laughs.

Carl Reiner with Mel Brooks and his daughter, Annie, 2 days ago for Mel’s birthday. ❤️

The world has lost a true comic legend and genius. What a trail blazer. Can you imagine being born in the 20s and seeing how much the world has changed since then? He still had an active Twitter account and one of his last tweets yesterday was expressing his heartbreak at the election of Donald Trump. It makes me sad because he had said many times how he wanted to live until he could see Trump voted out of office. His last was about Noel coward. Maybe he was waiting for him at the pearly gates! I’d like to think so. And now they’re holding court somewhere, sharing some laughs over a dry martini. Here’s to you, Carl.
