How Mike Pence’s Office Meddled in Foreign Aid to Reroute Money to Favored Christian Groups
Officials at USAID warned that favoring Christian groups in Iraq could be unconstitutional and inflame religious tensions. When one colleague lost her job, they said she had been “Penced.”
Last November, a top Trump appointee at the U.S. Agency for International Development wrote a candid email to colleagues about pressure from the White House to reroute Middle East aid to religious minorities, particularly Christian groups.
“Sometimes this decision will be made for us by the White House (see… Iraq! And, increasingly, Syria),” said Hallam Ferguson, a senior official in USAID’s Middle East bureau, in an email seen by ProPublica. “We need to stay ahead of this curve everywhere lest our interventions be dictated to us.”
The email underscored what had become a stark reality under the Trump White House. Decisions about U.S. aid are often no longer being governed by career professionals applying a rigorous review of applicants and their capabilities. Over the last two years, political pressure, particularly from the office of Vice President Mike Pence, had seeped into aid deliberations and convinced key decision-makers that unless they fell in line, their jobs could be at stake.

Seit zig-Monaten findet eine beliebte Show im US-TV statt, "Dancing with the Stars"
"No, Sean Spicer Really Can’t Dance
He has consistently been the worst performer on “Dancing With the Stars.” So why is he still on?"
https://www.nytimes.com/2019…
"“He can’t dance, that’s literally what it is,” Brown said, agreeing with host Andy Cohen’s opinion that Spicer is not so light on his feet. “But it’s also fan vote. And Middle America watches the show and they vote for him.'”

Trumps Republikaner kassieren bittere Niederlage in Kentucky

Since Trump was elected, Democrats have flipped 10 governorships, taken both chambers of Virginia state legislature for first time in two decades and of course won the House of Reps in 2018. Donald Trump is truly Making the Democratic Party Great Again!! #MDGA

Mason Dixon Poll.
Im Juni war Bevin vorne mit 6% Gravis Poll
Some Trump businesses show new signs of financial decline, including Trump Tower in Chicago — with profits falling 89%
"What a beautiful ballroom," President Donald Trump said as he walked into a campaign fundraiser recently at a hotel in downtown Chicago.
Donors laughed. The hotel was Trump’s. They were paying the president to cater his own fundraiser.
The Chicago event exemplifies a pattern of the Trump presidency: It was another presidential trip that brought Trump private benefits. The hotel was paid about $100,000 for the lunch, according to a Republican official who helped coordinate it.
Trump's presence also gave a boost to a property that, like some of his others, is suffering from financial decline.
Profits fell 89 percent from 2015 to 2018, from $16.7 million to $1.8 million, according to documents filed with Cook County, Illinois. Trump's hotel struggled even as other Chicago hotels held steady or thrived.

Kentucky Republicans taking steps to outright steal governor's election they just lost
Bevin has refused to concede the race, and Republicans in the state house are taking first steps to take control of the election, reverse the results, and return Bevin to the governor’s mansion no matter what the vote says.
As the Louisville Courier-Journal reports, the Republican president of the Kentucky Senate has already started looking into how they could contest the election and throw it to a vote in the GOP-dominated state House of Representatives. Under Kentucky state law, the elections are certified by a state board of elections. Once that happens, Bevins has 30 days in which he could ask for a re-canvas or a recount. However, he could also contest the election. In that case, it would be up to a vote of the House and Senate to decide the winner. And in both chambers, Republicans have a majority.

Und das vom rechten Washington Examiner:
The Trump-era realignment is a death sentence for the GOP
Gov. Matt Bevin’s loss should send a message to embattled Republicans in Trump Country: President Trump is not going to save you if you're drowning.
Republicans’ loss of both chambers of Virginia’s legislature should send a message to Republicans in the rest of America: Trump is going to drag you down like an anchor.
Since Trump’s shocking upset win in November 2016, the story of politics in America has been pretty simple: Democrats win, Republicans lose.
The explanation is pretty simple, too: Trump has made Trump voters, but not Republicans, out of working-class independents and Democrats, and he has made Democratic voters out of independents and Republicans. ...

TRUMP TEEN RAPE ALLEGATION RESURFACES, RONAN FARROW CLAIMS NATIONAL ENQUIRER TRIED TO PROTECT HIM IN NEW BOOK

Trump wanted Barr to say publicly that the Ukraine phone call was not illegal: report
President Trump wanted his attorney general, William Barr, to state publicly that he had broken no laws with his July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Washington Post reported Wednesday that Trump requested Barr make the announcement at a formal press conference.
Barr declined, though the Department of Justice (DOJ) did eventually release a statement claiming that a readout of the president's call — during which Trump pushed Zelensky to launch an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden — had been evaluated to not contain any campaign finance violations.

Interessanter Artikel, dazu einige Anmerkungen:
